About the course

Internationally aligned training, closer to home

A structured 5-day Cardiac CT programme following internationally recognised cardiac CT training curricula, including BSCI/BSCT and SCCT, combining complementary Radiology and Cardiology expertise for practical, clinically focused learning.

Led by Professor Saeed Mirsadraee, Consultant Cardiothoracic Radiologist at Royal Brompton Hospital and Professor of Practice in Cardiovascular Imaging at Imperial College London, alongside cardiology and radiology faculty from Institut Jantung Negara.

A small-classroom, high-touch learning experience, with one dedicated Siemens syngo.via workstation per participant and direct faculty interaction throughout the course.

The first Cardiac CT course in Malaysia with SCCT-endorsed content, providing a distinctive opportunity to undertake internationally aligned training closer to home.

Two levels in one week

Level 1

Essential Training

  • Cardiac CT principles, acquisition & clinical applications
  • Patient preparation, heart-rate control & image quality
  • Cardiac and coronary anatomy, variants & anomalies
  • Calcium scoring & cardiovascular risk assessment
  • Systematic coronary CTA interpretation
  • Normal and introductory coronary CT cases

Level 2

Intermediate Training

  • Coronary artery disease, plaque & stenosis assessment
  • Coronary stents and bypass grafts
  • Complex and mixed coronary CT interpretation
  • Advanced coronary CT: CT-FFR, CT perfusion & PCI planning
  • Structural heart CT, including TAVI/TAVR planning
  • Non-coronary cardiac CT: tumours and other applications
  • Supervised workstation-based case interpretation

Professor of Practice in Cardiovascular Imaging, Imperial College London

Professor Mirsadraee is an internationally recognised Cardiac CT expert and educator, with extensive experience in cardiovascular CT clinical practice, education and service development. He has led the development of advanced cardiovascular CT services and techniques and is regularly sought after internationally for his expertise.

He has trained 500+ cardiologists and radiologists in Cardiac CT and leads the established annual Cardiac CT Level 1 & 2 course in Edinburgh, bringing extensive experience in structured, competency-based cardiac CT training.

This programme brings his proven course structure, curated cardiac CT case library and direct mentorship to Kuala Lumpur, offering participants from Malaysia and the region an opportunity for intensive, hands-on training with a leading international authority, closer to home.

    Datuk Dr Ahmad Khairuddin Mohamed Yusof

    Senior Consultant Cardiologist, IJN

    Datuk Dr Ahmad is a Senior Consultant Cardiologist and the pioneering Head of Imaging Centre at Institut Jantung Negara (IJN). He was a Research Fellow in Cardiovascular Imaging at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA, before establishing Cardiac CT services at IJN and playing a key role in advancing cardiac nuclear medicine in Malaysia. He is also an experienced interventional cardiologist performing coronary angiography and PCI, while continuing to report high-volume Cardiac CT and nuclear medicine studies and supervising Cardiology and Nuclear Medicine Specialist trainees.

  • Dr Hafidz Abd Hadi

    Dr Hafidz Abd Hadi

    Consultant Cardiologist, IJN

    Dr Hafidz is a Consultant Cardiologist at IJN with expertise in cardiac CT, echocardiography, and advanced coronary interventions, including high-risk PCI and imaging-guided procedures such as IVUS and OCT. He leads the Non-Invasive Cardiology Laboratory (NCL) at IJN and is actively involved in regional and international cardiovascular education as a speaker and faculty member.

    Dr Ning Ajleaa Ngah

    Consultant Radiologist, IJN

    Dr Ning is a Consultant Radiologist at IJN with expertise in Cardiac CT, pulmonary vascular imaging and cardiovascular MRI. She trained at Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, and Royal Papworth Hospital, Cambridge. She has extensive experience in advanced cardiovascular imaging and multidisciplinary case planning across the UK and Malaysia.
